We maintain and insist that a rapist should have no 'religion' associated with them. Yes one is free to draw a general conclusion that a certain community is found to be involved more than any other but in general we refrain from doing any religious classifications.
However, it becomes shamemful and shocking when minorities demand exemption from their crimes by playing victims.
For example, In Bangalore, a recent incident which has similarities to the gang-rape of Nirbhaya at Delhi and Shakti Mills gang-rape at Mumbai - a gang of hoodlums reportedly kidnapped a girl student at knife point during her visit to her parents in Fraser Town, Bangalore. Subsequently they gang-raped her in the presence of her friend.
Haider from Fraser Town was arrested after the girl and her friend complained to the police. His five friends have gone 'missing'.

But as if the rape and assault itself are not shameful enough, here are two shocking facts related to this case:
1) Muhammed Rafiq Ahmed, and four other policemen of Pulikeshi Nagara station filed the case as 'abduction and assault' instead of sexual harassment and rape - even after a clear complaint by the girl.

2) The relatives of the accused - Atiq, Imtiaz and others, are protesting their arrest and are claiming that this is a false case against their innocent children. They think they've been accused simply because of their religion.

A departmental inquiry has been ordered against inspector and others , for dereliction of duty but what can one do about their community who are playing victims ?
